RIP Shawn “5-0″ Voorhees
2/25/89 - 12/26/09

Today was a really sad day for us. Street soldiers have a great emptiness in all of our hearts. 5-0 was always the one that was smiling and laughing and would bring smiles and laughs to all of us. I miss you brother, I really do, and I speak for all of us saying that we will miss you but won’t forget you. You have left a big hole in our hearts but you will always be on our hearts. I love you man and we all do. I know that from up there you will ALWAYS be your brothers keeper and a Street Soldier.

In Loving Memory Of

Rafael “Apu” Avila

To Those Whom I Love and Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do
You must not tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that I have had so many years

I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness
I think you for the love each have shown
But now it is time I traveled on alone

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust
It is only for a while that we must part
So bless the memories in your heart

I will not be far away, for life goes on
So if you need me, call and I will come
Though you can not see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All of my love around you soft and clear

Then, when you must come this way alone
I will greet you with a smile and a
“Welcome Home”

We will all miss Apu immeasurably, but he has left a piece of himself with all of us. He will always be in our hearts and Prayers.

Down Soldiers

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Early this month 2 prospects went down not even a week apart. Mariano/Americana both sustained injuries but due to their proper protective gear the injuries they sustained were minimal and they are doing well. Our prayers and well wishes for a speedy recovery for both of these fine soldiers.

In Loving Memory of
Scott “Weedr” Williams

Weedr

Missing Man Formation

Look at that Rider
Wind in his face
Hand on the throttle
Setting the pace

First spot on the right
Is unoccupied
A Rider that’s gone
Should be by his side

A place of honor
Is that first bike tonight
Our friend that is gone
Rides to his right

Too early He’s taken
Our Brother that’s gone
His face we still see
As we ride on

The rest of us follow
In columns of two
A long winding line
Of Riders so blue

Black bands on our arm
In heavy traffic we ride
But we feel safe
A brother rides by our side

To stay with us always
And get us back home
Except for the last ride
Which He’ll do alone

In front of the line
Of Riders so blue
Our voices and faces
Just memories then too

Look at that Rider
Wind in his face
He leads the way
To a very sad place

Weedr was an exemplary member of the Street Soldiers. His loss has affected us all and he will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Weedr.

When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little but not too long
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we shared.
Miss me but let me go
for this i sa journey that we all must take
and all must go alone.
It’s all part of the Master’s plan,
step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
go to the friend we know
and bury your sorrows in doing deeds.
Miss me but let me go.

Gee-Man was a magnanimous example of the Human spirit. He was loved by all and will remain in our hearts. He poured his heart and soul into establishing StreetSoldiers.net and this site will endure as a tribute to his steadfast alligence to this family.
